The King and Prince is the perfect location to spend time with your family, friends, and colleagues. During the course of our Convention attendees will participate in programs offering 8 Continuing Education hours from world-class speakers, each with timely and pertinent information for funeral service professionals. Our funeral service suppliers will be exhibiting with the latest products and services for your funeral home. You will have time each afternoon to relax, unwind, and enjoy all St Simons Island has to offer before enjoying our evening festivities.

Be sure to send a copy of your registration form by fax/email (even if you are mailing a check) to ensure receipt by our registration deadlines.
Room Block

ATTENTION: Our block is contracted for arrival 6-1-2025 and departure 6-4-2025. Dates outside of this block are based on the King and Prince availability and pricing. Room reservations are the responsibility of attendees and convention registration is separate. Our block will close when it is sold out or May 16, whichever comes first.
Recognition for Your Years of Funeral Service
During our Business Meeting, June 3, GFDA will recognize licensed funeral directors with 10, 25, 40, 50 & 60 years of service.
If you are celebrating one of these year marks in funeral service, notify GFDA by sending an email (staff@gfda.org) or fax (770-592-3686) with your name, years licensed, and your contact information. We respectfully ask to be notified by Friday, May 15.
Service of Remembrance
Our Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday, June 3 , with special guests, Clint Day and Georgia Nurse Honor Guard.
We will remember those who passed from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025.

Silent Auction
Help Make Our Silent Auction a Success! Our Silent Auction will take during the GFDA Summer Convention Banquet & Party on Tuesday night, June 3.
If you would like to make a donation, complete the form in the registration package and return it to the GFDA office.
GFDA Scholarships
GFDA offers a $1000.00 scholarship to be awarded to one student at Gupton-Jones and one funeral service student at Ogeechee Tech during our Summer Convention. All applications must be completed in full and sent to the GFDA office for consideration. Further, the award of scholarships is at the discretion of the GFDA Executive Board; if minimum award criteria are met, the scholarship will be awarded. If minimum criteria are not met by any applicant, the Board reserves the right to not award scholarship(s) in any given year. Students must have served or be serving their apprenticeship at, or currently be employed by, a GFDA member funeral home in order to qualify. Contact the GFDA office for a scholarship form (email staff@gfda.org or phone 770-592-8002). Fully completed scholarship submissions are due to the GFDA office by Friday, May 16, 2025.
