Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer - Full Time

Love Funeral Home, family owned and operated since 1935, in Dalton, GA is looking to add a Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer to our staff. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Arrange and direct all activities relating to transfers, funerals, visitations, and cremation services including preparation of funeral home facilities and equipment, embalming and preparation of deceased, and on-call responsibilities 
  • Ensure vehicles, buildings, facilities, and grounds are maintained in a clean, manicured, and working order 
Education & Experience:

  • Georgia Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer or ability to obtain license in a timely manner
  • Must meet and maintain all education and licensing requirements

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer - Full Time

Posey Funeral Directors is offering a select opportunity for a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer who exemplifies strong communication and technical skills, an interest in community activity, and a desire for continued professional development. The person filling this position will be expected to manage all phases of the funeral service experience from receiving and transferring decedents to the Posey care center to the final disposition of those families’ loved ones. This position also requires the ability to work on a rotating on-call schedule requiring night and day availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and transfer decedents to our care center
  • Embalm, dress, and prepare decedents for viewing
  • Make at-need and pre-planning arrangements with families
  • Ensure proper paperwork, including permits and certificates, are completed in a timely, efficient manner following relevant laws and regulations
  • Conduct funeral services with dignity and attentive respect for families being served
  • Follow up post-funeral with families served providing for aftercare needs
  • Continuously provide Posey CARES service as defined in employee guidebook
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and harassment-free working environment
  • Complete all required continuing education as defined by state licensing agencies
  • Model commitment to community through participation in community events, groups and organizations and other community relationships
  • Maintain a flexible attitude demonstrating willingness to carry out additional projects/duties as assigned including daily cleaning assignments and facility care

Required Education, Skills, & Abilities:

  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Valid state-issued SC dual Funeral Director/Embalmer licensure (as per state licensing requirements) or reciprocal equivalent from another state
  • At least two years of work experience as a funeral director and embalmer making funeral arrangements, conducting funerals, and embalming a variety of cases
  • Skilled in restorative art techniques
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing with an acceptable driving record
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Outlook and Word
  • Strong organizational skills to include time management
  • Excellent oral communication skills in-person and over-the-phone including the ability to effectively communicate with customers, community leaders, clergy, and bereaved families
  • Excellent written communication including attention to detail and follow-through
  • Able to work on various tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Able to safely operate a company vehicle with a valid state-issued driver’s license
  • Able to move, push and pull heavy weighted items up to 150 lbs. in a safe manner
  • Able to stand for two (2) or more hours without rest

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer - Full Time

Dressler’s Funeral Service is hiring for a Licensed Funeral Director. 

General Duties - Including, but not limited to: 

  • Funeral planning
  • Embalming
  • Pre-Planning
  • Directing and overseeing funerals, viewings, and visitations
  • Funeral set-up and breakdown
  • Preparation of deceased for burial, cremation, viewings, and transport
  • Prepare and publish obituaries
  • Proof and file death certificates
  • On call nights and weekends as scheduled
  • Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements: 

  • Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Georgia
  • Valid GA driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must pass a background check
