A well-established, family-owned and operated funeral home serving beautiful Fayette County, Georgia, is seeking a Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer to join our team.

We are looking for an experienced funeral service professional who takes pride in providing exceptional care to families and understands the importance of compassion, attention to detail, and professionalism throughout every aspect of funeral service.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a professional appearance and demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of service are essential.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

1. A current Georgia Funeral Director and Embalmer license.
2. Funeral service experience and the ability to quickly integrate into and adapt to an established funeral home operation.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and family-service skills.
4. Proficiency with technology and the ability to comfortably learn and use funeral service software and other digital tools.
5. A valid Georgia driver's license, or the ability to obtain one, with an excellent driving record.
6. The ability to independently manage the details of an active caseload, prioritize responsibilities, and multitask when necessary while creating a meaningful and personal experience for every family we serve.
7. The ability to safely lift 50 pounds or more.

Position Overview:
This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of funeral service, including arrangements, directing services, and performing embalming and preparation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to compassionate service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with families to arrange and coordinate funeral and memorial services
• Direct funeral services with professionalism and sensitivity
• Perform embalming and preparation in accordance with all state and federal regulations
• Ensure all documentation and legal requirements are completed accurately
• Maintain facilities, equipment, and preparation areas to the highest standards
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to families throughout the process

• Current Georgia Funeral Director License (required)

Memorial Park South Funeral Home and Crematory, 4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542

General Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Assisting families with planning meaningful funeral/memorial services and following through to be sure all details are planned. This includes contacting ministers, churches, cemeteries, military honors, fraternal organizations, newspaper notices, police escorts, etc. Also responsible for obtaining information for all legal documents. Assisting families with pre-planning.
• Directing and overseeing funeral/memorial services.
• Preparation Room responsibilities will include embalming, dressing, preparing deceased for viewing for burial or cremation, and casketing of deceased.
• Responsible for setting up equipment for funeral/memorial service including, chapel, church, graveside, etc.
• Make removals and work on-call schedule including rotating nights and weekends.
• Willing to be a part of community and be involved with civic organizations or any interest candidate may have.

Education Experience Required Skills: 

• Georgia Funeral Director and Embalmer license or able to obtain.
• Proficiency in overall computer skills such as Word, Excel, etc. and funeral related software used for case files, accounting, and video production.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• Must be willing to work with team oriented staff.
