Memorial Park Funeral Home East, Braselton Chapel is seeking a full-time licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer/Manager. 

General Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Funeral Directing Embalming
  • Knowledge of, and compliance with, all Federal, State, and local laws pertaining to providing funeral services, including FTC and OSHA
  • Hold a Georgia Funeral Director and Embalmer License
  • Advise and assist families in funeral planning and direct and carry out all funeral plans
  • Embalm, dress and casket deceased
  • Always treat and care for descendent in a respectful and professional way
  • Comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines
  • Discuss and explain the ( FTC) Federal Trade Commission, Funeral Rule and be comfortable in explaining it with families and knowing when to present families with it in a timely manner
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required to perform duties that require such 
  • Dress and maintain personal and professional appearance with the standards set forth by our company Policy

General Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Funeral Directing

  • Knowledge of, and compliance with, all Federal, State, and local laws pertaining to providing funeral services, including FTC and OSHA
Qualifications:
  • Licensed in the State of Georgia as a Funeral Director and Embalmer or licensed in another state with the ability to reciprocate a Georgia license within reasonable period of time.
  • Compassionate heart for serving the needs of families.
  • Well versed on embalming and obtaining successful results.
  • Experience in conducting arrangement conferences with families.
  • Some knowledge of funeral home computer programs and/or willingness to learn.
  • General knowledge of Georgia laws in relation to pre-need funding. Able to manage part-time staff. Able to relocate to West Georgia area at the expense of the funeral home. Southern Cremations & Funerals in Marietta and Fairburn, GA is seeking a full-time Funeral Director/Embalmer.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all licensed duties with making funeral arrangements, embalming, and conducting services as prescribed by Georgia Law
  • Supervise Apprentices under your license and/or assist supervision under another Funeral Director listed as preceptor
  • Manage Funeral Assistants, Administrative Assistants and Apprentices assigned to assist in arrangements
  • A desire and ability to discuss pre-arranged funerals with clients and inform them of memorial options at our facility
  • Perform all other job duties in the Funeral Home or Cemetery as needed for company needs

Help Wanted: Funeral Director - Savannah, GA

Job Description: We are looking for a funeral director and embalmer to complete all day-to-day activities at the funeral home. Above all, we are searching for a motivated team player who wants to be part of a tight-knit group. The funeral director and embalmer will assist families with exemplary customer service skills and ensure all family needs are met.

Reports to: Funeral Home Manager

Compensation: From $55,000 per year base salary. Relocation to be discussed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel with and coordinate arrangements with families and other third parties to carry out selected funeral, cremation and cemetery services with care and compassion.
  • Develop and maintain the necessary knowledge to explain the benefits, present all options and assist with the selection of all products and services offered to families.
  • Execute and finalize all financial arrangements for purchases of merchandise and services selected by families, including securing payment in accordance with company policy.
  • Help to direct and coordinate funeral and interment services.
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain necessary licensure and/or other certification to meet any local, state, or federal regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures, and ensure that they are carried out at all times.
  • Assist with conducting, set up and preparation of visitations, funeral and memorial services, receptions.
  • Assist in transferring of cremated remains and packaging and preparation of urns/keepsakes according to industry best practices.
  • Perform embalming of decedent and cosmetology according to industry standards and practices, technical, safety and sanitary requirements.
  • Participate in the general upkeep of the building, grounds and cars, including light housekeeping to keep the facilities and grounds in perfect order. This includes keeping work areas tidy, picking up litter on the grounds and general straightening up.
  • May be required to perform Pre-arrangements to assist client families
  • Take on additional or new responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the manager.
  • Support and add to a great team, help families and develop a great culture!
Requirements:
  • Drivers license with clean driving record
  • Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Georgia
  • Adhering to the dress code of the funeral home (formal wear)
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds safely
  • Ability to properly fill out paperwork as assigned by the funeral home for removal of the deceased
  • Willingness and ability to work night shift and/or be on call
