Not only has GFDA given me the opportunity to learn more about the funeral service industry, it has given me a chance to meet some of the finest people in the planet. Being from a small town in south Georgia, I would never have met folks from the north. Lasting friendships that can never be taken away.
I have served the industry on numerous funeral association boards for over a decade. One of GFDA’s strongest attributes is the enduring friendships created across our state. These friendships allow us to discuss areas of opportunities in each of our markets. We not only benefit from each other, we have access to the most current continuing education classes. I have been a member of GFDA for several years. As a district chairman, I have had networking opportunities with more seasoned funeral directors. Bridging the gap from the older generation to a newer generation is vital for our growth as a profession. The GFDA enables us to do that with many different continuing education opportunities as well as social events throughout the year.
