Raymond Donald “Donnie” Jones went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 22, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a good friend to many and was “Papa” to his three adoring grandchildren. He will be missed tremendously.
Born February 25, 1950 in Tifton, Mr. Jones was the son of the late Ruby Lee and Raymond Jones. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1968 and earned his BS from Georgia Tech in 1972. He spent over 40 years in the insurance business working many years for United Family Life and retiring from Great Western in 2016 as a Regional Manager. He immensely enjoyed his work relationships with his colleagues and the many funeral directors he worked closely with, whom he considered dear friends.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan Keheley Jones of Marietta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Keeley Jones Bailey and husband, Travis, of Woodstock, Malissa Jones Light and husband, Winfield, of Cumming; one son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Jones and wife, Christine, of New York; three beloved grandchildren, Caroline Bailey, Gracen Bailey and Luke Light; two sisters, Wanda Jones Goff and Karen Jones Hasty, both of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Sandi Jones of Tifton; one sister-in-law, Barbara Lewis of Marietta, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Connie Keheley of Acworth; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roswell United Methodist Church, 814 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell, GA 30075. A graveside service and interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00p.m. at South Canton Funeral Home, 3147 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA 30114.
