Lyman Ware Mann, 91, of Tyrone, passed away on August 6, 2017. He was born in Fayette County on December 26, 1925 to the late Lemmie and Nora Mann. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Saratoga and provided air support at Iwo Jima. Lyman was a Funeral Director for Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home for more than 30 years. He was a very active member of Tyrone Lodge #644 since 1957, serving as Master in 1959, 1960, 1966, 1986 and 2009. He was also Director of Works at the Lodge for many, many years and coached new Masons through the memory and proficiency work. Lyman was loved and respected by his family, friends and community and will be greatly missed. 

Lyman was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gladys Matthews Mann and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda and Johnny Lynch of Senoia; his son, Jeff and Debbie Mann of Luthersville; his grandchildren, Karyn and David Moorman of Concord, Karla and Herman (Mac) McRae of Eatonton, and Ryan and Stephanie Mann of Moreland; his great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Desiree Blanton of Fayetteville, Parker Moorman and Lucy Moorman, both of Concord, and Kaiden Mann and Harley Mann, both of Moreland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The funeral service for Lyman will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at First Baptist Church - Tyrone, 305 Arrowood Road, Tyrone, with Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday evening, August 10, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, GA.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. David Arnall for his many years of loving care for Lyman and to the staff of Southwest Christian Care for their home and inpatient care during his final days.
