Edd R. Hill, age 80, of Buford, GA passed away, Thursday, January 19, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mary Hill; sisters, Villa Browning, and Buelah Hill; brothers, Curtis Hill, and John Hill. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jalaine Poole Hill, Buford, GA; children, Tanya and Mark Guldenschuh, Lawrenceville, GA, Shannon and Terri Hill, Woodstock, GA; grandchildren, Grant Guldenschuh, Dakota Hill, Grayson Guldenschuh, and Jordan Hill; brother, Spurlin and Fran Hill, Montgomery, AL; special nephew, Wayne and Carolyn Hill, Suwanee, GA; and numerous extended family members. Mr. Hill was born October 20, 1936 in Floyd County. He was a 1956 graduate of Sugar Hill High School and was the retired owner of Hill's Dry Cleaners in Stone Mountain, GA. Mr. Hill was raised in the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home from the age of two until he was nine, where after he was raised by John and Frances Hill in Sugar Hill, GA. He was a member of Lucerne Baptist Church in Lilburn, GA.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Perimeter Church, 9500 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097 with Rev. Butch Davis officiating. A reception will follow after the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 329, Palmetto, GA 30268, or to Lucerne Baptist Church, 4805 Stone Mountain Highway, Lilburn, GA 30047 in memory of Edd Hill.
