As the newest board member of GFDA , I consider it both an honor and a privilege to serve for this wonderful association. The friendships I have made in the industry, and the knowledge that has been passed onto me by GFDA members over the years, is invaluable and will benefit the families I assist in the future.

Not only has GFDA given me the opportunity to learn more about the funeral service industry, it has given me a chance to meet some of the finest people in the planet. Being from a small town in south Georgia, I would never have met folks from the north. Lasting friendships that can never be taken away.

I have served the industry on numerous funeral association boards for over a decade. One of GFDA’s strongest attributes is the enduring friendships created across our state. These friendships allow us to discuss areas of opportunities in each of our markets. We not only benefit from each other, we have access to the most current continuing education classes. Please encourage all firms to join GFDA. I guarantee that you will learn something, make friends for a lifetime, and have fun while doing it.

I have been a member of GFDA for several years. As a district chairman, I have had networking opportunities with more seasoned funeral directors. Bridging the gap from the older generation to a newer generation is vital for our growth as a profession. The GFDA enables us to do that with many different continuing education opportunities as well as social events throughout the year.

Our firm has been a member of the Georgia Funeral Director Association for over 60 years. I can tell you first hand, the value of membership far outweighs the cost. From advocacy to the life long friendships you will make, GFDA continues to be the premier funeral service association in Georgia.

I have been a member of our association for my whole career, was honored to serve on our Board, and I have enjoyed every day. With the continuing changes in funeral service, GFDA provides numerous educational opportunities needed to comply with State licensing requirements. As a long time member, I especially enjoy the lasting friendships made with my colleagues through the years.
